There will be a
Music Committee
meeting in the Choir Room tomorrow evening beginning at 7:00 PM. We will be
choosing hymns for October and November. Visitors are welcome.
The deadline for articles to be published in the next edition of
“The Shepherd’s Staff”
is noon tomorrow.
We will be preparing a
vestry agenda
this week for the meeting to take place next Monday. If you have an item for
that agenda, please turn it in at the office for inclusion.
There is an
open flower date October 28.
If that date is close to an important time for you or your family, please
consider giving flowers. Simply call Lois Armstrong at 428-1515.
We do need volunteer families or groups for the
Parish Breakfasts
this year. Those meals are held on the second Sunday of the month from September
through May. We do have volunteers for October and November, but none after
that. There is a sign up sheet posted for volunteers for the rest of the program
year. If you have questions, please call Linda Bennett at 295-9073.
Adults please remember that there is a
“Coffee Quarter-Hour”
in the Great Hall following the 10:00 Eucharist. This is a time of socialization
for adults. Adult Forum begins at 11:40 AM and ends at 12:15 PM.
Habitat for Humanity
is working on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 8 AM until 2 PM at our
newest project, 423 Washington Dr. in Mineral Wells. All volunteers are welcome.
Lunch volunteers are also needed. Call the Habitat office at 422-7907.
A
work day
is being planned at Horizons Group Home beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday,
October 13. Your help would be appreciated – skill is not required.
This is the last Sunday in the month and we will have a
Children’s Sermon.
The preacher for this month’s Children’s Sermon is
Art Bennett.
The
2007 Bishop’s Ball
will be held at Stonewall Resort on Friday, October 12. A reception before the
Ball will be held from 5:30 until 6:30 PM followed by a buffet dinner. The Ball
will be from 8:00 until 11:00 PM with music provided by the Gary Stewart
Quintet. Tickets (which do not include rooms) are $75.00 per person. Our parish
contact for the Ball is Greg Dotson.
What is
Centering prayer?

quieting the mind and resting in God’s presence within. A Centering Prayer group
will meet at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5501 Fourth Ave., Vienna on Sat., Oct.
13, Sat., Nov. 10 and Sat., Dec. 8 from 9:30AM – 11:30 AM. For more information,
