Youth Ministries Council Meeting

August 19, 2007 Notes

Attendance: Marie, Jackie, Trish, Carolynne, Lisa

Attendance Changes

Marie is retiring and will be traveling and gone frequently. She went over the dates that she would be available, and unavailable for meetings and events. Carolynne is concerned about the attendance of Melody, Paula and Nancee due to their present circumstances. Charlie’s attendance is very irregular. Carolynne will be asking Tim Northrup about joining us as well as Linda Crocker.

Sunday School Teachers

Jackie went over her Sunday school teachers list. She still needs teachers for primary and intermediate.

Sunday School Picnic and Kick-off

There will be hotdogs, buns, sauce, condiments, popcorn, McDonald’s orange drink, another drink and a dessert. The water slide will be available as well as one other game for non-sliders. There will be tables, chairs and canopies for shade. For ten cents, people can vote for their favorite t-shirt design.

Lisa – hotdogs, bun, sauce, orange drink, other drink, donated cookies if possible corn hole game if possible

Jackie – popcorn maker, flyers for neighborhood kids for Aug. 29^th hotdog Wednesday, name tags for teachers, set up

Carolynne – set up, condiments, alternate game if necessary, water slide

Bob – clean up

Trish – T-shirt contest voting

Yvonne – will help Jackie with the flyers

VBS in review

Carolynne read Linda’s report. All went very well, a little difficulty with preschool and games.

T-Shirt Report

One design has been submitted so far.

Song Book Report

The YMC will give $50 toward the purchase of twenty of the “green” books and one music book used at Peterkin. EYF will give the rest of the money. Books will be dedicated to the memory of Janice Lee. Books will be used at picnics and functions of the like.

Kids Change Choices

Heifer Project (global charity), Camp Echo (state charity) and Old Man Rivers, Domestic Violence Center and Art Camps (local charities)

EYF Kick-off

Looking at Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31- Sept. 1. Trish will ask Chuckie and Jerrod what they think. May change to Sept. 7-8.

EYF Hotdog Help

EYF will help with the neighborhood hotdog cookout on Aug. 29^th. They are to wear their yellow t-shirts.

Sunday School Teachers Meeting – Sept. 7^th at 7:00.
