HELP WITH BILLS OR PRESCRIPTIONS
Good Shepherd makes some money available each month that can be used to pay for shut-off notices on utility bills, prescription medications, other essential bills, and even gas to visit doctors in other cities. The money is given out on a "first come first served" basis - once it's gone for the month, it's gone. Usually, the best time to get this money is early in the month. You can try calling our office at (304) 428-1525 and press option 2 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday, any time after the first of each month.
We will not give you cash, but will pay the bills for you.
We will promise funds for up to two weeks while you obtain promises from other agencies to complete what is needed for your bill. Once you have commitments for the total amount needed, we will call the utility company for you and mail them a check. If you have a promise from us we will not give that money to someone else until your promise time is up!
If you are reading this and would like to help in this effort by providing additional funding from time to time, please contact the office at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church at (304) 428-1525 and press option 10, or send us a check made out to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 903 Charles Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Be sure to indicate that the check is for the "Discretionary Fund".
God Bless you all.
